North Hi Mount is officially Blue Zones approved! Join us at 8:15am outside under the magnolia tree for our official ceremony and party with the executives from the Blue Zones team. Also, kids who live within walking distance from North Hi Mount will be able to participate in our very first walking school bus that morning starting at 7:30am. Stay tuned for the three pick up locations where your student can join in with their classmates (with plenty of adult chaperones) and all walk to school together. It's a great way to kick off the event and support our healthy lifestyle we live at North Hi Mount. 

Just what is Blue Zones? It is a community-wide well-being improvement initiative to help make healthy choices easier for everyone in Fort Worth. A vital part of Fort Worth's Healthiest City Initiative, Blue Zones Project® encourages changes in our community that lead to healthier options. When our entire community participates – from our worksites and schools to our restaurants and grocery stores – the small changes contribute to huge benefits for all of us: lowered healthcare costs, improved productivity, and ultimately, a higher quality of life.

North Hi Mount has been actively applying to be an official Blue Zones school over the past 6 months and just recently received this accreditation. Thank you to NHM parent and Blue Zones chair, Lynnette Kile, for spearheading this initiative.
