Elections for the PTA Executive Board occur in the Spring, but we are always welcoming new committee members. Must be a current dues-paying PTA Member to vote and serve on the Board.


PTA BOARD & COMMITTEE OVERVIEW

EXECUTIVE BOARD - VOTED ON POSITIONS

VICE PRESIDENT- Laura Martinec
The Vice President serves as the aid to the President and performs the duties of the president in the event the president is absent or temporarily unavailable.

PRESIDENT- Sarah Morford

The president is elected as the presiding officer and leads the PTA in cooperation with the other members of the executive board. info@northhimountpta.org

SECRETARY-Jessica Kaszynski
The secretary is responsible for keeping accurate records of all association proceedings, including preparing the general and board meeting agendas and recording the minutes from those meetings.

TREASURER- Ashley Bulicek
The treasurer is the authorized custodian of the association funds and receives and disburses all monies in accordance with the budget as approved by the association membership. treasurer@northhimountpta.org

PARLIAMENTARIAN- Erin Lynds
The parliamentarian advises the board and members in ensuring we are following our PTA bylaws and rules of order at all times

 

FUNDRAISING

WALK-A-THON CO-CHAIRS- Callie and Andrew Jarratt with Melissa and Brian Jordan

Leads the annual Walkathon Fundraiser where students are encouraged to raise money then walk around the neighborhood and attend a Carnival. 

AUCTION CHAIR- Lauren Deen

Leads the Auction Team in planning our annual adults-only, off-campus spring fundraiser consisting of dinner and silent/live auction. auction@northhimountpta.org

SPIRIT WEAR CO-CHAIRS- Lauren Osias

Leads the design, sales, and distribution of all NHM spirit wear (spirit shirts, house shirts, hats, bows, etc). spirit@northhimountpta.org


COMMUNICATIONs

VP OF COMMUNICATIONS- Camila Caster

Oversees the following Chair positions: Social Media, GroupMe, Graphics, Newsletter (monthly PTA Newsletter and weekly school Smore), Video, Printing, Spanish Liaison, Blog, Yearbook, and Website. communications@northhimountpta.org

SOCIAL MEDIA CHAIR- Zach Leonard

In charge of posting graphics, links, stories, reels, information, etc. on the NHM PTA Instagram and Facebook based on requests from the Comms Requests Google Form. Considers and plans posting schedule to optimize reach.

GRAPHICS CHAIR-

In charge of creating graphics in the NHM Canva account based on requests from the Comms Requests Google Form. Organizes Canva folders, uses current year’s theme (logo, colors, fonts), works with other committees who might make their own graphics but need copies in various sizes.

NEWSLETTER CO-CHAIRS- Julie McCaddon

  • PTA Monthly Newsletter (EBlast) - builds through Squarespace, creates and uses current year’s template that reflects the school’s theme with colors, fonts, and logo, sends out PTA Newsletter at least monthly as promised to our fundraising sponsors, manages sponsor logos and their website links in PTA Newsletter, gathers requests from the Comms Requests Google Form as content, obtains approval from VP of Comms before it is sent out.

  • Weekly School email blurbs - gathers short email blurb requests with links from the Comms Requests Google Form, formats blurbs to maintain continuity, creates blurbs based on the PTA Calendar on the PTA website as content for emails in the event that a request was not sent by a committee chair through the Request Google Form to ensure all PTA events are communicated to the school. Obtains approval from VP of Comms, PTA VP, and PTA President each week and then emails to admin, Spanish Liaison, VP of Comms, PTA VP, and PTA President.

VIDEO CREATOR:

Pump Up videos can be created in Canva for our big annual fundraisers: Walkathon and Auction. Videos are shown in Specials and are used to get our Eagles excited. Video Creator gathers requests from the Comms Requests Google Form as content for videos and works closely with Fundraising Chairs to maintain cohesiveness in messaging. Emails admin and specials teachers to distribute video and plan viewing schedule, obtains approval from admin to create and plan distribution.

PRINTING CHAIR:

Works with our Graphics Chairs and committee members who send requests to print flyers, posters, sandwich board posters, etc. and helps our committees work within their printing budget.

SPANISH LIAISONS- Josie Vasquez and Mayra Contreras

Works with our Dual Language staff and full Communications Committee to engage and include Spanish-speaking families and students. Translates everything the Communications Committee creates into both Spanish and English. Encourages and maintains a bridge between our Spanish speaking community and English speaking community through communication.

YEARBOOK CHAIRS- Cristina Martinez Sullivan

Leads the Yearbook Team in taking and/or collecting photos of all school events throughout the year and compiles them into the official NHM yearbook for the students and staff. yearbook@northhimountpta.org

CAMPUS AND COMMUNITY


VP OF CAMPUS & COMMUNITY-

Serves as the go-between for the PTA, NHM administration, and FWISD to understand upcoming initiatives while managing Hospitality, Healthy Lifestyles, All Pro Dads, Beautification, Membership and Cultural Enrichment

CARNIVAL CO-CHAIRS- Anna Martin and Jenny Wedemeier

Leads the annual, community-wide, free fall carnival.

HOSPITALITY CHAIR- Lourdes Gil

Provides necessary refreshments and materials for school visitors, the principal, and any special events.

HEALTHY LIFESTYLES CHAIR- Vahista Ussery

Walking School bus leader. Liaison for the Blue Zones Initiative.

ALL PRO DADS CHAIR- Brendan Fenno

Acts as the liaison between the national All Pro Dads organization and our campus members.

BEAUTIFICATION CO-CHAIRS- Callie and Andrew Jarratt

Lead all landscaping and outdoor efforts, making sure our campus stays beautiful.

HISTORIAN-

Compiles recap of the year that expresses what worked and didn’t for the PTA including, but not limited to suggested changes or areas of growth that have been discussed in the PTA. Recap includes all chair and committee positions. Helps to prepare new volunteers and board members for success. All notes kept in Google Drive. Files library’s yearbook.

MEMBERSHIP CHAIR- Lindsey Miller

Leads the promotion and collecting of all funds related to individual and family PTA Membership. Coordinates with Room Parents for grade level special member events throughout the year organized by Grade Level Leaders (Bingo Night in September, Membership Dance, Movie Nights, etc).

CULTURAL ENRICHMENT CHAIR- Cristina Martinez Sullivan

Provides a sustainable way for Hispanic and African American children at NHM to obtain cultural enrichment through literature, art, and history of Hispanics and African Americans.

CLASSROOM ENGAGEMENT

ROOM PARENTS CO-CHAIRS- Breanna King and Melissa Jordan

Leads both the Holiday and Valentine’s Room Parent parties as well as other classroom needs throughout the year. roomparents@northhimountpta.org

TEACHER & STAFF APPRECIATION TEAM- Gaby Rivera, Erika Medrano and Melissa Jordan

Ensures our teachers and staff are shown appreciation throughout the year and during Teacher Appreciation Week

BOOK FAIR LEADER:

Assists the Librarian with the set up of the Fall and Spring Book Fairs. During Book Fair, help to coordinate volunteers to run the cash register, organize books, and coordinate volunteers to help break down the Book Fair.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES CHAIR:

Coordinates the collection of teachers’ supply lists, working with our supply kit vendor, and the selling/distribution of school supply kits for the upcoming year.
