EAGLE MARKET LAUNCHES AT NORTH HI MOUNT
2017 has been a huge year so far for North Hi Mount. In an effort to create a healthier community, our PTA, students, and staff have launched some excited new initiatives. Just last week, our Healthy Lifestyles Committee kicked off Eagle Market, a free fresh fruit stand setup outside the school during pickup in the afternoon for kids to enjoy a healthy snack while they wait. And yes, we said FREE.
The cart was a labor of love, hand crafted by our PTA. It was built, sanded, and stained by hand, led by PTA committee chair and NHM parent Lynnette Kile. The fruits were painted by committee member and NHM parent, Anna Martin. And when that stand launched on October 10th, the kids were beyond excited. Our goal as a PTA was to have this stand available once a month, but due to student demand and an amazing agreement to donate all the fruit by Central Market (thank you CM!!!), we are aiming to have it available every Tuesday. Fresh fruit will be free to all students until it runs out. We are talking bananas, apples, pears and more.
Stay tuned as we grow this new initiative and work to bring the fruit to not just the carpool pickup line riders, but bus riders and Clayton/FWISD after care students as well. We want it to be something the whole student body can enjoy.
